Are you struggling with accepting God’s abundant love for you because of the enemies lies?
I was overwhelmed by the words in my head, as I sat with my head in my hands with tears streaming down my face. “Well yet again I am a disappointment. I am never going to be good enough. Why do I even bother to try?! I am so worthless.” Over and over, again and again, I hear these voices saying that I am not good enough, unworthy. LIES! All of them.
If you, also, are in a place where you lack joy and peace you may be listening to the lies of the enemy. One of the main reasons that we are not living in joy and peace is because we are listening to the wrong voice. Over the last few weeks we have talked about God’s abundant love for you, praying for help and guidance, finding the truth, and meditating on that truth. Today we are going to talk about what to do when we recognized those lies. How do we get rid of them? How do we step back into joy and peace? Because, it is all up to us! We have the power to get rid of those lies or to believe them.
No matter where those lies were heard first, they all come from the devil. We must remember:
“We do not wrestle against flesh and blood…but against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
So we need to suit up for battle. We did this as we prayed, found truth, and meditated on His word. Now we have to take what we learned and apply it. So, the key here is:
- Recognize the lie
- Fight it with truth
So every time you hear a lie, you are going to fight that lie with a verse that you have memorized that debunks the lie. Here are two examples from my life.
Fear and Anxiety
Fear and anxiety are perfect examples of lies. They are not of God. When you feel fearful and alone – STOP and say:
I am not given a spirit of fear, but of love and peace and a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7)
My God will not leave me nor forsake me. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
He works all things for the good of those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)
Worthlessness and Not Good Enough
We are so valuable to our Father in heaven. The devil wants us to feel like God does not treasure us, because it draws us away from Him. STOP and say:
I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, that You my loving Father, prepared before I was formed. (Ephesians 2:10)
Before You formed me in the womb you knew me. (Jeremiah 1:5)
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. (Psalm 139:16)
In conclusion, the more that you pray, read, meditate, and apply, the better you will be at accepting God’s abundant love. This will help you to live full of joy and peace as you trust the Father with your life. Knowing that he cares for you!
