What are your dreams? Start a business or blog? Visit far off places? Learn to knit or sew? Open an Etsy shop? What ever they are, do not give up!
Building your own home is full of ups and downs. It is usually a pretty fast process once the paperwork is signed and the loan approved. I have seen these houses fly up in less than two weeks!
Our dream was to get out of debt and build a house on some land that was completely paid for.
When JP and I started our lives together there was a lot of debt. JP was laid off when things crashed in 2008, along with MK being born, and we were flat broke. We very slowly by the grace and provision of God, built a business and got out of debt.
We are now building our cabin as we can afford to pay for it. Last month we moved into a camper on our land to save money and also be able to be on site to build and work. JP is acting as our General Contractor and will also do all of the wiring (with a little help from me).
So we are at the point now where it is framed, the roof is on, and the windows are in. Next will be the outer doors! We purchased two French doors for the bedroom and laundry room, but we are building the basement and front doors. And by we, I mean my wonderful hubby and our dear friend Donald! Here is a bowl that Donald turned in his shop!

Next on the agenda!
The plumber came and got started Friday! JP also has a contractor friend that is going to put some doors in and do some other work. Hopefully some front porch steps and a railing are in our near future!
It is a wonderful process, and I am so thankful that we have started this journey!
Dare to Dream!
So again I ask, what are your dreams? Do not give up on them! If they are good dreams then they will take a lot of hard work, sacrifice, and planning. But if we can buckle down and do it, I know you can as well.
Trust God with your dreams and your future. Let Him open doors for you. Be open to His guiding hand. He is a good Father who loves you and cares about all of your thought and dreams.
Remember to be like Paul and be content no matter your situation (Philippians 4:11-13), but also be sure to work toward the better you that the Lord is calling you to be. He is refining us daily, if we will allow it. And the hard times, the pressure, is just Him making diamonds!
