How to Battle Feelings of Solitude in a New Parenting Season

As parents we go through many different seasons of parenting and life. There are times when we feel very alone and out of place in our new seasons of parenting. How do we battle feelings of solitude and loneliness?

feelings of solitudeWhen MK was born, most of my friends had children around the age of 10. I had a 10 and 8 year old at the time. None of my friends were having babies, nor were they newly married. They did not understand where I was at the moment, because that life was long gone for them.

This left me feeling left out and alone at times. I wanted good close friends, a community, but could not seem to find them. I began to battle feelings of solitude. This is not a fun place to be.

Accepting God’s Abundant Love for You: Get Rid of the Lies

Are you struggling with accepting God’s abundant love for you because of the enemies lies?

I was overwhelmed by the words in my head, as I sat with my head in my hands with tears streaming down my face. “Well yet again I am a disappointment. I am never going to be good enough. Why do I even bother to try?! I am so worthless.” Over and over, again and again, I hear these voices saying that I am not good enough, unworthy. LIES! All of them.

If you, also, are in a place where you lack joy and peace you may be listening to the lies of the enemy. One of the main reasons that we are not living in joy and peace is because we are listening to the wrong voice. Over the last few weeks we have talked about God’s abundant love for you, praying for help and guidance, finding the truth, and meditating on that truth. Today we are going to talk about what to do when we recognized those lies. How do we get rid of them? How do we step back into joy and peace? Because, it is all up to us! We have the power to get rid of those lies or to believe them.

Is the Thankfulness of Thanksgiving Gone?

I am taking a moment to breathe, sip my warm coffee, and have a heart of thankfulness, before the crazy hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving starts. In a few minutes I am going to be rushing, trying to get food cooked and people ready, but right now…I just want to sit and thank God for the blessings that he has giving me this year.

So as I sit on the deck of our unfinished cabin, I am very aware of how unbelievably blessed we are. God has worked so many wonderful miracles in my life and I am beyond thankful. As we celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving today, most of us will reflect on our blessings and thank God for them. My prayer is that we will do that each day of the next year.

Accepting God’s Abundant Love for You: Find the Truth

Your heavenly Father loves you with a perfect and beautiful love. And because He knows absolutely everything about you, there is nothing you can hide from Him. And He also desires for you to understand His abundant love for you. Are you accepting God’s abundant love?

How to Find God’s Truth

There are two main reasons that we will need truth to start accepting God’s abundant love for us. First, we need the truth so we can know how adored we are by our heavenly Father and second, we need the truth to fight the lies of the enemy.

During my years as a child I remember my mother asking me what in the world was wrong with me. She did not understand me, really, which just made it all so much worse. I later learned that I was battling with depression. And for way too many years, as a result of not know how to handle it, the depression just got worse and worse. During this time I thought that there was something wrong with me, that I was broken somehow.

While studying psychology during college I learned that what was wrong with me was not my fault. I was not broken, but completely fixable! Understandably, it was a huge relief for me to have this information. Over the years I have tried many different routes to “cure” my depression, but the thing that has helped me the most, is truth.
