A New Thing

When we made the decision to rent out our house and move into a camper there was a lot of things that we did not realize. I knew that there would be a few things that would sneak up on us, but we would be on our land and live would be beautiful. It is always easy to look at things with snow covered glasses when you are at the beginning of an new journey. But when it is 30 degrees and you have no hot water and have been staring at the same for walls for a week. Well things start to change! We have learned so much over the past 9 months of living in a camper and building a house. Like Jacy says in her post, you learn to appreciate things in a totally different way.

I am so thankful for this journey and all that it has created in our family. We are so blessed to live in this way, together, for this season. Am I ready for my home to be done? Heck Yes!! But I also really want to enjoy and soak in this season as well!

You can as well! Maybe you are working toward a dream that has you in an “in-between” phase. Praise God through the season that you are in, and watch His blessings flow! When things seem rough, look forward to the end goal. Dream about what that will look like and the blessings that it will be. Don’t give up emotionally or physically! Some days will be hard, we have definitely had some hard ones! But we will look back on this season with joy and laughter and isn’t that what life is all about?

A New Thing

There have been many times in my life when I have been so busy looking at the past that it was stealing my present joy. God tells us in Isaiah 43: 18-19 “Forget the former things; do not swell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

How often have we missed a “new thing” because we were stuck in past hurts or relationships? I feel like this is yet another one of the devil’s distractions to keep us from God’s will and blessings.

We are ALL Creative

Over the last year or so I have come to realize that we are all creative in our own ways. God was very creative, think of all of the wonderful things that He created for our enjoyment. He was also so very creative when He formed you! You are a beautiful work of art.

We are each given gifts and talents, areas that we are strong in, that should be used for God’s glory. So there are some of us who go beyond creative into artistic or gifted in certain areas. Take music, we can all let loose and strum a guitar and some pretty cool stuff come out, even though we may never be a gifted musician, we can be creative in this area and find joy in it.

Maybe you sew a little, or draw, or color, or work with wood, knit, crochet, or just dabble in a little fun painting! It can be so rewarding and relaxing to spend time being creative! And you never know, you may try it and LOVE it!

Seeing the Vision

I have never tried to create a vision board, so this post interested me. What is a vision board? Why in the world would I ever need one? How do I create on? And what does this do with my life, goals and #OneWord2018?

I love how she talks about how this is something that God is leading her to do. Not just for herself and her own vision of the year, but also for the benefit of those in her life. Habakkuk 2 tell us to write the vision and to also make it clear so that anyone can read it. This is what a vision board will do.

Will this help me with my goals, my vision for the blog this year? I think that having my goals and visions for the year in plain sight would be a huge help in attaining those goals. When you create goals you need to write them and make them measurable. This is just is just taking that a step further. You will have your goals in you vision at all times and also bring more of God into your goals. As you update your board with how God is working, you will encourage yourself and others as well!

Still Waters Book Review

There is nothing better than a great book that whisks you away. That takes you to a place that gives you rest and peace and teaches you a little something about life along the way. Still Waters by Lindsey Brackett is that book!

Lindsey has struck gold with her debut novel Still Waters. The book is set on Edisto Island, South Carolina along the beach coast. Edisto and the characters come to life during your time spent with them. Gripping from the first chapter, you know that this entire family has some serious hurt to work through. But it is especially difficult for Cora Anne. Can she face and overcome her past? Can she let go, let God heal, and let love in after all these years? Continue reading
