A New Thing

There have been many times in my life when I have been so busy looking at the past that it was stealing my present joy. God tells us in Isaiah 43: 18-19 “Forget the former things; do not swell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

How often have we missed a “new thing” because we were stuck in past hurts or relationships? I feel like this is yet another one of the devil’s distractions to keep us from God’s will and blessings.

We are ALL Creative

Over the last year or so I have come to realize that we are all creative in our own ways. God was very creative, think of all of the wonderful things that He created for our enjoyment. He was also so very creative when He formed you! You are a beautiful work of art.

We are each given gifts and talents, areas that we are strong in, that should be used for God’s glory. So there are some of us who go beyond creative into artistic or gifted in certain areas. Take music, we can all let loose and strum a guitar and some pretty cool stuff come out, even though we may never be a gifted musician, we can be creative in this area and find joy in it.

Maybe you sew a little, or draw, or color, or work with wood, knit, crochet, or just dabble in a little fun painting! It can be so rewarding and relaxing to spend time being creative! And you never know, you may try it and LOVE it!

Seeing the Vision

I have never tried to create a vision board, so this post interested me. What is a vision board? Why in the world would I ever need one? How do I create on? And what does this do with my life, goals and #OneWord2018?

I love how she talks about how this is something that God is leading her to do. Not just for herself and her own vision of the year, but also for the benefit of those in her life. Habakkuk 2 tell us to write the vision and to also make it clear so that anyone can read it. This is what a vision board will do.

Will this help me with my goals, my vision for the blog this year? I think that having my goals and visions for the year in plain sight would be a huge help in attaining those goals. When you create goals you need to write them and make them measurable. This is just is just taking that a step further. You will have your goals in you vision at all times and also bring more of God into your goals. As you update your board with how God is working, you will encourage yourself and others as well!

Homeschooling Mistakes

Being able to homeschool is such an amazing blessing. But it does not come without its own set of problems and mistakes. It is a beautiful journey that each family must find their own way through. We must tailor it to our current season and to our children, their learning styles, and their hearts.

There is no right or wrong way to school your children, as long as you are making sure to follow the laws of your state. So we must look at lots of different options, try new things, and not be scared to get rid of what is  not working! Also make sure that when listening to advice for what works for another family, it is just that, advice. Do not do it if it does not work for your homeschool!

Cultivating Passion

Live Life WellEvery day as mother and wives we have to make choices. More chores or time for ourselves. It seems like it would be an easy choice.

I am pretty sure I know what my kids would choose!

But for a mom and wife it is so hard to choose ourselves over taking care of our family. Even though we know that making time for ourselves is very important. We know that we can not refresh others if we are running on empty!

So we hit the bed in the evenings regretting that we did not ‘have time’ for the things that we are passionate about. God gave us these passions for a reason. Check out my guest post on You Are More Than Mom about using your God given talents as a SAHM.
