Dealing with My Overwhelm + Menu Plan Monday!

Happy Monday my wonderful readers!

Over the past few weeks, I have had quite a lot of  discontent and overwhelm in my homemaking. I could not figure out what was wrong and was blaming it on every one in the house. I was sad, tired, and mad. Then I started Stacy’s new course, Homemaking How-To and it really opened my eyes.

After talking with a friend I realized that I was putting my worth on my to-do list! I am going to write a post on my whole process through this course and the spiritual growing pains that I have gone through. For now read this post on the course and join us, and know that if you are feeling overwhelmed, you are not alone.

Ok on to the menu for the week!

We have had a crazy week with JP working some nutty hours, which has thrown everything off so there are a couple of meals that are from last week. We had more left-overs than I thought. So we ate those up, which gave me a little break!

Sunday: Wraps/Eat Out
Monday: Fish, Quinoa, Zoodles, Steamed Broccoli
Tuesday: Fiesta Casserole from Dreams and Caffeine
Wednesday: Southwestern Salad topped with Southwestern Chicken
Thursday: Stir-Fry with Chicken and Quinoa
Friday: Nachos
Saturday: Left Overs/Wraps/Eat Out

  1. I agree, some weeks we can be the rock stars and sometimes we are barely the back up singers! With your husband working crazy hours I’m sure it throws everything off, when we are having those weeks we just have to cut ourselves some slack. Hang in there and just keep at it. Have a good week!

      LoL, so true!Grace is my new favorite word. I don’t think that we give ourselves quite enough of it. I am learning that it is very important though!

Your recipes sound delicious; I think my family would fit right in at your place đŸ™‚ I’ve been at this homemaking thing for enough decades now that I don’t let lists or much else bother me at this point. It will all get done somehow — and if not, it will still be there the next day. It is nice to “meet” you!

      Thank you so much for the encouragement! You are right it will be there tomorrow! LOL! I know that I need to focus on the things that are really important, like keeping my joy, so that I can be a blessing to others. My hubby and children included! We can not let the little things, that will not matter in the end, stress us out. Thank you for the reminder.

  3. Good morning! I love your Menu Plan Monday posts, because they are helping me to be more accountable with maintaining my menu. Here it goes…

    Monday – Honey Garlic Soy Chicken with sweet potatoes and green beans

    Tuesday – Cheesy Spinach Enchiladas with dirty rice and corn

    Wednesday – Mushroom Spinach Stroganoff with caprese salad and garlic toast

    Thursday – Eggs, toast and turkey bacon

    Friday – Jerk chicken over cilantro lime cauliflower rice and three bean salad

    Saturday – Pot roast with veggies & potatoes and salad

    Sunday – BBQ Hamburgers, veggies, and french fries… fingers crossed that the rain stays away!
