Simple Beginner Knitting Project

A simple beginner knitting projectKnitting…just the thought of the clicking needles calms my spirit. Last week I shared with you some of the many benefits of knitting, so this week I want to show you a very simple beginner project. The dish cloth. These handmade dish cloths are the only dish cloths that I use. They also make wonderful gifts for friends and family.

All you need to know is how to cast on, how to do the knit stitch, and how to cast off.

If you are brand new to knitting you can learn the cast on and the knit stitch here. This is the video that I learned from.

For this project you will need:

One skein cotton yarn

Size 7 knitting needles

Blunt eye needle

Cast on 30 stitches

Knit every row until piece is a square

Cast off

Knitting is a craft that has always fascinated me. You have two needles and a ball of yarn you wiggle the needles around and the yarn turns into something, like a sweater! Which, by the way, I can not make!

I hope you enjoy this little project. Make sure to comment below if you tried it out or if you have any questions.

About The Quiet Homemaker

Here at The Quiet Homemaker I aspire to live a peaceful, quiet life as Paul urged the Thessalonians. God has blessed me with an amazing husband and three wonderful boys. He entrusted them into my care and I want to please Him by caring for them in a way that brings Him glory. I want to show them a quiet and peaceful life, where they work with their hands and tend to their own affairs and then reap the rewards of a job well done. The best way to show them this is through my example. Read More…
